The Australian Open has unveiled a fresh set of commercial and media rights developments that further reinforce the tournament’s status as one of global sport’s most progressive and commercially attractive properties. Tennis Australia has confirmed new partnerships with YoPRO and Nexo, alongside a multi-season broadcast extension with Sony Pictures Networks India.
YoPRO, the Australian high-protein yoghurt brand owned by Danone, has joined the Australian Open as an official partner, marking its first association with a Grand Slam tournament. The partnership positions YoPRO within the event’s performance, wellness and active lifestyle narrative, with a strong emphasis on on-site fan engagement at Melbourne Park.
Under the agreement, YoPRO will roll out interactive fitness-led activations, product sampling zones and dedicated athlete refuelling stations across the venue. The partnership also features world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who will appear on site at the Australian Open in his role as YoPRO’s Global Chief Progress Officer. His presence strengthens the brand’s elite performance credentials while adding star-driven storytelling to the tournament’s commercial platform.
In parallel, global digital assets company Nexo has signed a multi-year agreement with Tennis Australia, becoming the official crypto partner of the Australian Open and the wider Summer of Tennis series. The partnership delivers premium visibility through branding on on-court coaching pods across all major show courts, guaranteeing consistent exposure across live broadcast feeds throughout the tournament.
The deal extends beyond the Australian Open to include key lead-in events across Australia’s summer tennis calendar. It represents one of the most prominent crypto partnerships at a Grand Slam level and highlights Tennis Australia’s willingness to engage emerging commercial categories while maintaining a premium sponsorship mix.
On the broadcast side, Sony Pictures Networks India has extended its long-standing rights agreement with Tennis Australia, retaining exclusive coverage of the Australian Open across India and the Indian subcontinent for the next three seasons. Sony has held the rights since 2015 and will continue to deliver live coverage across its linear television networks and Sony LIV, supported by multi-language commentary, studio programming and digital-first content.
These announcements follow earlier confirmations that Bupa has joined the Australian Open as an official healthcare and digital health partner, while Chubb has expanded its sponsorship into a multi-category global partnership.
The 2026 Australian Open begins on January 12 in Melbourne and is expected to reach hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, further cementing its position as a cornerstone property in the global sports business calendar.
