Australian Open has announced a new multi-year partnership extension with the leading hospitality services, Marriott Bonvoy.
Marriott Bonvoy, which includes more than 30 brands, an award-winning travel program, and limitless experiences, comes back as the official hotel partner for the Australian Open, in addition to the United Cup, Hobart International, Brisbane International, and Adelaide International during the Australian Summer of Tennis.
Tennis Australia, Chief Executive, Craig Tiley, said, “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Marriott Bonvoy. Just as we strive to create unforgettable moments for our fans by showcasing the world’s best throughout the Summer of Tennis across Australia, Marriott Bonvoy delivers exceptional experiences for their guests through a world-class range of hotels. We’re excited to bring even more innovative and unique experiences to life as our collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy grows.”
Throughout its portfolio of hotels, which includes The Westin (Melbourne & Perth), The Ritz-Carlton (Melbourne & Perth), W Hotels (Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane), Sheraton (Melbourne & Sydney), Marriott (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide), and The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Hobart, Marriott Bonvoy will be welcoming some of the greatest names in tennis, VIPs, and tournament officials during the Summer of Tennis.
In 2024, over 1,100,000 fans came, with 4,40,000 of them travelling from out the state or abroad. Marriott International has been able to accomplish significant company objectives over the last three years owing to the partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Tennis Australia. These include increasing Marriott Bonvoy program engagement and brand awareness, as well as increasing hotel occupancy and revenue across its portfolio of ten Melbourne hotels.
Area Vice President – Australia, New Zealand & Pacific of Marriott International, Jason Nuell, said, “Marriott Bonvoy is proud to join with Tennis Australia to host the world’s top tennis talent, their support teams and extensive fan base over Australia’s Summer of Tennis. Our strategic partnership will continue to deliver our members and guests extraordinary sporting experiences to enjoy alongside our world class accommodations, connecting people from all over the world as the spotlight shines on Australia.
“The power of the Tennis Australia partnership in 2024 saw our member penetration rise from approximately 50 per cent to over 70 per cent during the tournament. We operated at high occupancy throughout the tournament and are currently pacing in line with last year. We also achieved an increase in revenue per available room year on year. Over 14 million Marriott Bonvoy points were burnt during the tournament, highlighting the interest from our global and local members in the experiences we curate as part of the partnership programming.”
The exclusive collaboration will also provide Marriott Bonvoy members with access to more than 60 unique Marriott Bonvoy Moments packages, which provide members with unparalleled access to money-can’t-buy events and experiences such as premium viewing tickets to marquee matches, such as both women’s and men’s finals, as well as access to Marriott Bonvoy’s private hospitality suite.
