Australia vs India: Sony Network signs sponsorship deal with WinZO

WinZO, an Indian e-sports gaming platform, gets on-board with Sony Pictures Networks for India and Australia series. The e-sports gaming platform will be a co-powered sponsor for Sony Pictures’ OTT platform, Sony LIV for India’s ongoing tour of Australia.

The Indian-Australian series will be Winzo’s debut for sponsoring an OTT digital platform for any sporting tournament. WinZO is a different kind of gaming platform that features 10 plus languages and the platform is available for both Android and Apple users.

Ms. Saumya Singh Rathore, Co-founder of Winzo, said, “India is a market with over a billion cricket fans who have been hungry for cricketing action for the last nine months. Post-IPL, it is great to see the resuming of international tournaments as well and it’s a proud moment for us to associate with the first India-Australia International Series of the year. WinZO is always committed to bringing the best entertainment to Bharat.”

Earlier this year, Winzo grabbed headlines for getting $18 Million Series B funding from top global Venture Capitalists. The e-sports gaming platform was funded by Singapore’s Makers Fund, New York-based Courtside Venture, and Bain Capitals.

A few days back, Sony Pictures Networks India was in limelight for bagging nine sponsors for the series between India and Australia. The sponsors include five Co-presenting sponsors as well as four Associate sponsors.  Sony Networks are reportedly expecting to earn more than ₹400 crores from the series.
