Australia SailGP Team partners with SKYY Vodka

SKYY Vodka has a long history and ties to the sea, with pacific nutrients sourced from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Australia SailGP Team has announced a new partnership with Campari Australia’s SKYY Vodka, which will see the company join the team for multiple seasons.

The collaboration between SKYY Vodka and the Australia SailGP team also includes support for the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix as the tournament’s official white spirits partner, boosting the luxurious experience of SailGP’s spectators. Fans could engross themselves in the SKYY Vodka brand at the Australian event, which will take place on February 18-19, 2023, with co-hosted hospitality experiences such as a pop-up bar at the SailGP Village.

This partnership is synergistic due to many similarities. SKYY Vodka has a long history and ties to the sea, with pacific nutrients sourced from the San Francisco Bay Area, the location of the SailGP Championship Grand Final. SKYY Vodka, like SailGP, expanded from a tech company to a global brand with similar meaning with the same tenacity and determination as the Australia SailGP Team and two-time SailGP champions.

SKYY Vodka will operate with the Australian team to collaborate with local sailing communities and clubs, with a programme that will offer the possibility for clubs to interact and help the two-time SailGP Champions.

Tom Slingsby, Australia SailGP Team Driver and CEO, commented, “The team is stoked to welcome SKYY Vodka into the family and have them alongside us as we compete on the world stage. Our team loves to celebrate with our drink of choice, a vodka soda, and their rich history and shared connection to San Francisco is the perfect fit for us.

“I’m really excited for us to share in the coming months the fantastic opportunities we have with SKYY Vodka to also engage and celebrate with our Australian sailing community who have supported us on our SailGP journey.”

Simon Durrant, Managing Director, Campari Australia, said, “We are absolutely delighted to announce SKYY Vodka’s partnership with the Australia SailGP Team and the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix I Sydney event – one of THE events of Sydney’s summer. The Australia Team is one of the most innovative, successful, and progressive teams in the global championship and we cannot wait to collaborate with them to create opportunities to engage with the sailing community in Australia.

“We are also looking forward to supporting the Australia SailGP Team through the rest of the season where we hope to share a celebratory drink with them at the final event in SKYY Vodka’s home town of San Francisco.”

IMG, SailGP’s global organisation for media rights, sponsorship, and host venue rights, enabled the SKYY Vodka collaboration. IMG is a subsidiary of Endeavor, which is a strategic investor in SailGP.

The Australia SailGP Team will now start preparing for the forthcoming Singapore Sail Grand Prix, which will take place on January 14-15, 2023, before going back to home waters for the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix, which will take place on February 18-19, 2023. Australia leads the Season 3 standings with 60 points, followed by Peter Burling’s New Zealand with 51 and France with 50.
