The Spanish football club, Atlético de Madrid, have announced a new strategic partnership with Moneta Markets, naming the online trading platform as the club’s official online trading sponsor for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The partnership represents a pivotal step in Atlético’s global growth strategy, designed to deepen its brand engagement across key APAC territories—including Southeast Asia, Australia, and East Asia. Moneta Markets will activate a region-specific sponsorship portfolio, including co-branded digital campaigns, exclusive content featuring Atlético players, and premium matchday experiences tailored for fans and trading communities.

David Bily, Founder & CEO of Moneta Markets, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and said, “We are excited to partner with Atlético de Madrid, one of Europe’s most iconic and competitive clubs. This collaboration reflects more than just a shared commitment to leading; it’s about effort, strategy, and ensuring we deliver the best possible performance for our clients. Together, we aim to combine the energy of world-class football with the precision and potential of trading, creating powerful new experiences for our clients and Atlético’s global fanbase.”

Óscar Mayo, Atlético de Madrid’s Chief Revenue and Operating Officer, added, “We’re proud to welcome Moneta Markets to the Atlético de Madrid family. Their global mindset, innovative approach and pursuit of excellence reflect the values that define us both on and off the pitch. This partnership marks a significant step in how we connect with our fans and explore new frontiers such as online trading.”

As part of the agreement, Moneta Markets will deploy branded content and localised campaigns using Atlético’s visual identity, including team assets and star players. The firm also plans to roll out regionally tailored educational initiatives and trader engagement programs—part of its broader mission to make online trading more accessible, intuitive, and community-driven.

The partnership adds to Atlético de Madrid’s growing roster of global commercial partners, which includes Nike, Red Bull, LG, Kraken, and AlphaTauri.

The club concluded the 2024–25 season with a third-place finish in LALIGA, securing UEFA Champions League qualification. They reached the Copa del Rey semi-finals and were narrowly eliminated in the Champions League Round of 16 following a dramatic penalty shootout loss to Real Madrid.

Star forward Julián Álvarez finished as the team’s top scorer, while goalkeeper Jan Oblak claimed the Zamora Trophy for the best goals-conceded ratio in LALIGA.

Looking ahead to the 2025–26 season, Atlético will kick off their campaign away to Espanyol on August 17, followed by a home opener against Elche. Early-season derbies against Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano promise a high-stakes start as the club aims to reassert its place among Europe’s elite.
