Lete is a vintage brand that originally appeared in the market in 1893 when the Lete Company began bottling the outstanding mineral water from the same-named spring. A few years later, it received its first worldwide honours, the Grand Prix in Paris and the Honour Prize in London in 1906.

Acqua Lete was bought by the Società Generale delle Acque Minerali (SGAM) in the early 1980s, which modernised the company by making wise investments in new technology and anticipating the demands of the complicated beverage industry. SGAM Spa combines glass and PET manufacturing, resulting in a technologically and organisationally cutting-edge bottling firm that has successfully launched and distributed its mineral waters Lete, Prata, and Sorgesana across the country.

The firm has 11 manufacturing lines (eight for PET goods, two for glass products, and one for aluminium), and it was the first food company in Italy to utilise 100% renewable energy. MITE-accredited founding member of CoriPet, an independent consortium for the management of PET packaging for food liquids.
