ASUS ROG, Saudi Esports team up to sponsor Gamers8 festival

Gamers8, an eight-week event taking place in Riyadh this summer, will begin on July 14.

The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and the gaming component manufacturer, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) have joined forces to sponsor the Saudi eLeagues along with the Gamers8 festival.

Gamers8, an eight-week event taking place in Riyadh this summer, will begin on July 14, will include esports events, musical performances, comedies and magical exhibits, as well as a discussion with industry professionals and analysts.

The agreement allows ASUS ROG a booth at Gamers8 in addition to promotional campaigns. The company will also give PCs to the Saudi eLeagues. The partnership’s finances were kept private.

The ceremony will take place at a location created specifically for the occasion in the Riyadh Boulevard City. With a cumulative grand prize of $15 million (£12,5 million), the games which will be played are Rocket League, Dota 2, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG MOBILE. The competitions will be broadcast in at least eight distinct languages throughout the world.

Apart from ASUS ROG, Mastercard also entered into a collaboration with the Saudi Esports Federation in the previous month.

Omar Batterjee, the Head of Communications, Marketing, and Partnership for the Saudi Esports Federation, said, “Gamers8 is set to be an incredible, showpiece spectacle in Riyadh this summer, blurring the lines between the physical and virtual worlds, and providing elite esports action, concerts, shows and activities for all ages.”
