The Formula 1 team, Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant has announced a collaboration extension and expansion with the premium audio solutions provider, EPOS.
As part of the renewal deal, the brand will continue to remain the team’s global audio partner.
In the deal, EPOS will keep assisting the team’s commercial operations with audio and communications. Moreover, EPOS intends to enhance its current partnership with the team by broadening its technical cooperation. The team’s Mission Control strategy centre at the AMR Technology Campus will now be equipped with EPOS’s cutting-edge COMMAND HME110 C3 headsets.
Racing in F1 is characterised by complicated decisions that call for straightforward, efficient communication, such as deciding how to respond to rain, a red flag scenario, or increasing tyre degradation. Off the circuit, strategy is just as important, and EPOS understands that instant communication determines the outcome of races. A key advancement in the collaboration is the integration of the COMMAND HME110 headset into the team’s technical setup.
The team’s strategy revolves around mission control, which is where essential information is gathered, examined, and recommendations for the best course of action are made. Mission Control serves as the central communications hub for numerous channels and teams operating in various time zones, locations, and environments. As such, noise management is critical to the seamless transfer of critical information.
With unique features like active noise cancellation and premium speech intelligibility, the COMMAND HME110 C3 headset from EPOS is designed to enable dependable communication in high-stress situations. This will enable Aston Martin’s race engineers and strategists at Mission Control to respond with unmatched efficiency, clarity, and precision.
EPOS offers a range of customised solutions designed for Air Traffic Control (ATC) and C3 (command, control, and communication) operations. The COMMAND series is part of this range, providing control and performance when it matters most. With the help of the specially made COMMAND HME110 C3 headsets, the team will be able to keep up crystal-clear real-time communication and support quick decisions.
Mike Krack, Team Principal, Aston Martin F1 Team, said, “We moved the whole team into our new AMR Technology Campus in the spring, and it has been a significant positive change for the entire organization. As well as a new environment, we’ve been able to invest in new equipment across every department, ranging from large manufacturing capability to the smallest measurement tools. One particular area where we’ve made considerable improvements is our new Mission Control facility.
“The opportunity to install EPOS HME110 headsets for every team member has been a great improvement. The microphones on these units are noise-cancelling, which improves the clarity of sound across the working group, and it makes a significant difference to the way we all work. Clarity of sound and clarity of thought is essential in such a high-pressure environment – and using EPOS is providing us with first-class equipment.”
Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen, EPOS President, said, “With a unified ethos for unleashing human potential via technology, innovation, and state-of-the-art engineering – our partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team is a natural fit. We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with the team and to continue the work we’ve been doing to support them on their journey to the top of the grid.
“Our products are designed for seamless communication even in high-stakes moments and in a sport where each fraction of a second counts, clarity and precision are essential. We’re looking forward to seeing the continued success that our products and expanded partnership can deliver to the team.”
