Aspect Sports, Aspect Global Ventures’ sports department, has bought the Mumbai franchise of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) in collaboration with APCO Infratech, bringing Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals into the league ahead of its much-awaited return in 2026.

The Pro Wrestling League debuted in 2015 and soon became India’s premier professional wrestling tournament until ceasing operations in 2019. Its reintroduction marks a renewed emphasis on organised wrestling in the country, providing a structured, high-performance platform for top Indian and foreign wrestlers.

With this acquisition, Aspect Sports expands its ‘Tiger’ franchise history from Kolkata to Mumbai, further strengthening its presence in Indian sport. The deal reinforces Aspect Sports’ aim of developing professionally managed clubs across competitions while also contributing significantly to the long-term growth of India’s sports environment.

Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals has also named Chandra Vijay Singh, a highly regarded national wrestling instructor and two-time Pro Wrestling League title winner, as head coach as part of the franchise’s development. His hiring adds proven experience and technical leadership to the club as it prepares for its inaugural season.

Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson, Aspect Global Ventures, and Owner, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals, said, “The acquisition of Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals marks an important step in the continued growth of Aspect Sports. Our vision has always been to build professionally run teams that contribute meaningfully to the development of sport in India. Mumbai is a city with a deep sporting culture and immense energy, and we see this franchise as an opportunity to build a strong connect with the city while creating a competitive, high-performance team. Wrestling has a strong cultural foundation in the country, and through this franchise, we are committed to nurturing talent, building excellence, and strengthening the sporting ecosystem.”

Mr RP Singh, Director of APCO Infratech, commented, “We are pleased to partner with Aspect Sports in bringing the Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals to the Pro Wrestling League. The league’s return represents a strong opportunity to support Indian wrestling at a professional level, and we look forward to contributing to the growth of the sport through this association.”

Tiigers of Mumbai Dangals will play in the Pro Wrestling League’s 2026 season, which will include six teams from throughout the country and a large pool of great Indian wrestling talent. The next player auction for the fifth edition of the league will include many of the country’s top wrestlers, including Aman Sehrawat, Antim Panghal, Deepak Punia, Anshu Malik, Lalita Sehrawat, Mansi Ahlawat, Kiran Bishnoi, and Chirag Chikkara, among others. The player auction, scheduled for January 3, 2026, will pave the way for the league’s comeback from January 16 to February 1, 2026.

With Mumbai as its home base, the brand aspires to deliver wrestling in a modern, high-intensity manner that appeals to urban viewers while remaining faithful to the sport’s competitive nature.
