AS Roma, the Serie A club based in the Italian capital, have announced a new multi-year strategic partnership with Wizz Air, marking the European low-cost airline’s first official sponsorship agreement with a professional football club.
Under the agreement, Wizz Air has become the main partner of AS Roma and the club’s official Airline. The airline’s branding will feature on the sleeve of the men’s first-team playing shirt, securing one of the club’s premium commercial assets.
Michael Gandler, AS Roma Chief Business Officer, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Wizz Air to the AS Roma family. This partnership brings together two organisations that share a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and service to a passionate global community. The addition of Wizz Air to our shirt sleeves is an exciting new chapter for the club, and we look forward to working together to develop big-impact initiatives for our fans.”
Silvia Mosquera, Wizz Air Commercial Officer, added, “Wizz Air is extremely proud to partner with AS Roma, a club that – like us – is loved by Italians for its ambition, energy, and deep connection with the community. Just as football brings people together, Wizz Air connects millions of people across Europe and beyond. We are immensely honoured to become the Official Airline of AS Roma, and we look forward to supporting the team, on the ground and in the air, while producing some unforgettable experiences for fans.”
For Wizz Air, the agreement represents a strategic entry into football marketing, using the sport’s scale and cultural influence to strengthen brand visibility across key European markets. The airline will collaborate with Roma on fan engagement campaigns, including promotional offers and travel activations designed to support supporters following the team across Italy and Europe.
The deal also concludes AS Roma’s search for a sleeve sponsor, reinforcing the club’s ongoing focus on diversifying revenue streams and strengthening its international commercial footprint.
On the pitch, Roma continue their Serie A campaign while balancing domestic objectives with European competition. The club currently sits fourth in the league table, three points behind leaders Inter Milan. Upcoming fixtures against Juventus, Genoa, Atalanta, and Lecce are expected to provide early broadcast exposure for the new partnership as Roma push to maintain momentum in the race for European qualification and the league title.
