AS Monaco announce Renault as front-of-shirt sponsor for Champions League fixtures

In addition to shirt sponsorship rights, the Renault name will be prominently displayed in Monaco's Stade Louis-II stadium.

The Ligue 1 team, AS Monaco have developed a new sponsorship deal with the French carmaker, Renault.

With this deal, the brand has been named the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor for matches in the UEFA Champions League club competition this season.

The team, which finished second in the previous season, will feature the Renault 5 E-Tech electric vehicle brand on the front of their UCL uniforms in 2024-25.

This is a big step from Monaco, who are now one of the handful of clubs to split their front-of-shirt sponsorships across competitions. Domestically, the fashion jewellery company APM Monaco will serve in that position for Monaco’s Ligue 1 fixtures.

The R5 emblem will, however, appear in a less prominent location on the men’s team’s shirts for Ligue 1 games.

In addition to shirt sponsorship rights, the Renault name will be prominently displayed in Monaco’s Stade Louis-II stadium, and also on the club’s several online and digital channels. Furthermore, the Ligue 1 club will receive more than 20 Renault vehicles.

Laurent Aliphat, VP Renault Marketing Brand Content, said, “We are very proud to be partnering AS Monaco football club this season. We share strong ties, based on our history and our values. Founded over one hundred years ago, we are both entities with national and international reach. And we are both seeking to implement strategies with a focus on clean mobility. This partnership comes at a time that promises to be exciting and meaningful for both of us, with the launch of Renault 5 E-Tech electric, an iconic car inspiring real passion, and the centenary celebrations of AS Monaco.”

Thibaut Chatelard, Marketing & Revenue Director of AS Monaco, said, “Welcome to Renault and Renault 5 E-Tech electric in the great family of AS Monaco partners! As the Club returns to the Champions League next season, marked by the Centenary of our institution, we are delighted to be able to count on Renault’s support for our European campaign and throughout the exciting Ligue 1 season. This new partnership with a world-class group like Renault and their iconic and responsible Renault 5 E-Tech electric is further proof of AS Monaco’s appeal. We look forward to working together and helping each other achieve our goals.”

Monaco’s first Ligue 1 game of the 2024-25 season will be on August 17 against St-Etienne, whereas the first of their eight UCL group-stage matches, will be in mid-September.
