Arsenal signs Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard: Reports

Odegaard was signed by Arsenal halfway through last season on a loan

English Premier League club Arsenal FC has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Real Madrid midfielder and Norwegian international Martin Odegaard.

The Norway international, who will join for an initial £30 million fee plus bonuses, was in London on Wednesday undergoing a medical.

Personal terms between Real Madrid and Arsenal won’t be an issue as Odegaard is keen to join the Gunners and with him being fully vaccinated, he does not have to quarantine either as he arrives in England.

Odegaard was signed by Arsenal halfway through last season on a loan, the deal came with him not being able to make a mark in the Real Madrid squad.

Odegaard registered one goal and two assists in over 14 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

But he has never established himself in Madrid, spending two seasons on loan at many clubs, the player wasn’t able to make a name for himself, consistent appearances in Arsenal can help Odegaard push his career in the right direction.

Arsenal play Champions League winners Chelsea on Sunday and will be looking to come back from the loss against the newly-promoted Brentford who beat the Gunners 2-0.

If Arsenal can register Odegaard by Friday, he will be available in the squad to face Chelsea on Sunday.

Arteta has already signed Ben White, Nuno Tavares, and Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Odegaard is all set to be the latest addition to his squad.
