Mano Thangaraj, the honourable Minister for Information Technology & Digital Services, Tamil Nadu, unveiled that Sports18‘s feed of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be available to Arasu Cable TV subscribers at no extra cost.
Arasu Cable TV reportedly landed an association with the distribution team of Sports18 to offer coverage of the multi-team football event to its users throughout the state. Following this development, the ongoing football World Cup will reach additional 25 lakhs set-top boxes owned by the state-owned MSO.
In the previous year, Viacom18 acquired media rights to the tournament for the Indian market. The ongoing exhilarating competition, which consists of 32 nations commenced on November 20 and the final will take place on December 18, 2022.
Earlier this year in October, the Indian media conglomerate also decided to stream the World Cup live on JioCinema.
Three fixtures are lined up for today, Wales vs Iran, Qatar vs Senegal and Netherlands vs Ecuador.
