In a groundbreaking step toward integrating cutting-edge technology into the women’s game, WSL Football has announced a new partnership with Apple to equip clubs and match officials across the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) and Barclays Women’s Championship with the latest Apple products.

The collaboration sees every club and official receive a suite of premium devices, including the MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and AirPods Pro 3, to enhance performance, communication, and matchday operations. This marks Apple’s first formal partnership in women’s football, signaling the tech giant’s growing investment in the global sports ecosystem.

According to WSL Football, the initiative aims to advance player development, improve performance analysis, and streamline league operations. Coaches and analysts will use Apple’s hardware and ecosystem to capture and evaluate real-time data, while officials will employ iPads for digital team sheets, match reports, and instant communication. The goal: to make processes faster, more accurate, and more transparent across both divisions.

Commenting on the occasion, Zarah Al-Kudcy, CRO, WSL Football, said, “At its core, we see this as a collaboration grounded in a shared ambition to drive meaningful transformation, and Apple has a remarkable history of revolutionising industries through its products. That spirit of innovation deeply resonates with our aspirations for women’s football, and Apple’s products will help provide a solution for disparity in club technology access and team performance analysis. By leveraging their world-class products, we’re empowering teams with tools that can transform on-pitch performance and create a more level playing field across the leagues.”

Scott Brodrick, Worldwide Product Marketing Manager at Apple, added, “We are thrilled to be working with WSL Football and to help every player, coach, analyst, and official elevate their game with Apple. Our aim is to enable innovation both on and off the pitch, and by placing our products into the hands of football’s most skilful athletes, we’re excited by what we can collectively achieve for women’s football.”

The partnership aligns with WSL Football’s broader strategy to modernise its leagues through digital transformation, from performance and officiating to storytelling and broadcast presentation. By embedding advanced technology across operations, the governing body aims to strengthen the professional infrastructure that underpins women’s football in England.

Apple’s involvement continues its tradition of redefining the intersection of sport and technology, having previously worked with major organisations including Major League Soccer (MLS), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Hockey League (NHL), and the World Surf League (WSL). The partnership with WSL Football extends that legacy into one of the fastest-growing segments in world sport.

The rollout of Apple technology is expected to begin ahead of the 2025–26 season, setting a new benchmark for how innovation can drive performance, equality, and fan engagement in professional women’s sport.

With Apple joining existing partners Barclays and Nike, WSL Football continues to strengthen its commercial and technological foundation, underscoring its vision to transform women’s football into a world-leading sporting product both on and off the field.
