The French-based asset management firm and the title partner of Evian Championship, Amundi has signed a sponsorship deal with seven emerging female golfers as they begin their careers in Asia.
This announcement is followed by the formation of the Europe Amundi Team in 2021 and the US Amundi Team earlier in 2022. The deal demonstrates Amundi’s growing commitment to women’s golf after being named as the five-year title partner of the Amundi Evian Championship.
The sponsorship is a part of Amundi’s Women Talent Program, which offers monetary support to promising young female golfers from all over the world as they fight in high-profile major competitions, and stems from the company’s commitment to gender equality and diversity.
Furthermore, other significant projects in the guidance of women’s golf entail title sponsorship of the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge and the newly formed Amundi German Masters, which brings a top-tier women’s golf tournament back to Germany. Amundi also helps the next generation of golfers, men and women, via its Amundi Young Talent Program.
The seven golfers are China’s Ruoning Yin, Xiang Sui, Wenbo Liu, Sophie Han, and Tiffany Huang; Thailand’s Budsabakorn Sukapan; and Japan’s Sayaka Takahashi. In their early careers, the seven athletes have shown incredible talent and dedication to the sport.
Alain Berry, Head of Communications at Amundi, said, “Amundi has vowed its long-term commitment to advancing women’s golf via the Amundi Evian Championship. As part of our support in promoting diversity and equality, we are excited to launch the new Asia Amundi Team and to support female athletes in a region of strategic importance to Amundi.
“In partnering with players like Xiang Sui, Wenbo Liu, Ruoning Yin, Sophie Han, Tiffany Huang, Budsabakorn Sukapan, and Sayaka Takahashi we look forward to helping them unveil their potential further and emerge on the international golf scene.”
