Amul, an Indian dairy company known for its timely topicals, has now also paid homage to the legendary football player Pele, with a topical. Pele, widely regarded as the greatest football player of all time, died on December 29 and since then homages and commiserations have been gushing in for the Brazilian football legend from all over the world.
The black-and-white topical, with the caption “SimPele the best,” demonstrates Pele in action on the soccer field, displaying his famous “bicycle kick.”
Nevertheless, this is not Amul’s first topical with Pele. The co-op released its first topical with the legendary player in 2015.
Pele visited India in October 2015. The topical was focused on the legend’s warm reception when he toured India’s football capital, Kolkata. This wasn’t his first outing in India. In 1977 as well, he visited India and played a friendly match against Mohun Bagan.
Pele died at the age of 82 from cancer complications. He battled the illness for a long time and was hospitalised in Sao Paolo. Brazil will observe three days of mourning in honour of the legendary player.
