The Indian dairy giant, Amul, has further expanded its international sports sponsorship portfolio after being announced as an official partner of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, reinforcing the cooperative’s ambition to build global brand visibility through premium sporting events.

The partnership comes as the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games get underway, with the Scottish city welcoming more than 3,000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations and territories to compete across 10 sports and six Para sports until August 2. Alongside its role as an official partner of the Games, Amul is also supporting the Indian contingent through its existing partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), serving as an official sponsor of Team India as the nation’s athletes compete in Glasgow.

The dual association strengthens Amul’s presence at one of the world’s largest multi-sport events, giving the brand visibility both as a commercial partner of the Games and as a backer of the Indian contingent. Amul has also been named the presenting partner of Weightlifting, Para Powerlifting and Boxing, expanding its presence across three of the Games’ marquee strength sports. The rights align with the brand’s long-standing mission to promote milk and dairy products as a natural source of energy, strength, and nutrition for athletes.

Amul joins a diverse commercial programme assembled to support the delivery of Glasgow 2026. The Games have adopted a streamlined, sustainability-focused model, with all competitions taking place across four existing venues within an eight-mile corridor, significantly reducing infrastructure costs while promoting environmental responsibility. The commercial partner ecosystem spans sectors including healthcare, energy, beverages, transport and accessibility, featuring brands such as Bupa, Coca-Cola, Allied Mobility, Ideagen, JUBEL, Microplus, and Allwyn.

For Amul, the agreement represents another strategic investment in sports as a platform for international growth. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets Amul products, has steadily increased its presence in global sport through partnerships with leading sporting organisations and national football teams. The brand has extended its collaboration with the Argentina Football Association and the Royal Spanish Football Federation and has also partnered with several IPL teams, such as Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, and Gujarat Titans, strengthening its visibility across two of the world’s most recognised sports.

The Glasgow 2026 partnership further diversifies Amul’s international sponsorship portfolio beyond football and into major multi-sport events, while its support of the Indian contingent through the IOA reinforces the brand’s long-standing association with Indian sport. Together, the two partnerships position Amul at the heart of Glasgow 2026, combining global brand exposure with direct backing of India’s athletes on one of the biggest stages in Commonwealth sport.
