The Singapore-based esports company Ampverse is all set to expand in India. The company has acquired 7Sea Esports for an undisclosed amount. Ampverse aims to invest a multimillion-dollar in the Indian esports and gaming ecosystem.
This is their fourth esports team acquisition after Bacon Time (2021 AoV Thailand Champions), SBTC (2021 SEA Wild Rift Champions), and MiTH (2021 PUBG Thailand Winter Champions).
7Sea Esports recently won India Today Dangal Championship for establishing one of the most competitive Battleground Mobile India teams and also came second in the highly contested Sky Esports championship.
Ampverse will look to grow 7Sea Esports with its strategy of turning high growth esports teams into authoritative, culturally relevant brands while also creating a strong bond with fans, stated in a press statement.
7Sea Founder Santosh Pecheti, said, “7Sea was created because we wanted to give young Indian gaming talent a chance to become the next generation of sporting heroes. With Ampverse, we’re ready to take it to the next level. We’re also ready to bring the best-in-class entertainment to the fans by partnering with India’s leading gaming creators.”
Ampverse was founded back in 2019 by former Twitch, Universal Music and Havas executives. With over 70 employees across Southeast Asia and a community of over 80 million fans across its portfolio of teams and gaming talent, this resulted in triple-digit year-on-year revenue growth for the company.
