The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and Allianz have solidified their enduring alliance, announcing a significant extension of their Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partnership to 2032.
This landmark agreement has reaffirmed Allianz as the exclusive worldwide insurance partner, extending its commitment by an additional four years and guaranteeing vital support for future Games.
The extended partnership sees Allianz providing comprehensive risk management and protection services for organizers, athletes, and spectators at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games French Alps 2030 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032. This crucial role underscores Allianz’s dedication to ensuring the safety and success of these prestigious global events.
Commenting on the extension, Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte said, “The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 inspired the world as well as our employees, customers and business partners, elevating and uniting people through sport. We also saw very positive benefits for our business and the Allianz brand. Now more than ever, the world needs the power of sport to unite people. The IOC and Allianz share this vision, and this is why we consider our partnership more important than ever.”
IPC President Andrew Parsons added, “Allianz’s journey with the IPC began in 2006, and our partnership and joint passion for making the world a better place has grown stronger every day, having a tremendous impact across the Paralympic Movement. We are therefore delighted – particularly against the backdrop of an increasingly divided world – to extend this successful partnership through to 2032 and continue our support for the unifying spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.”
Beyond providing essential insurance services, Allianz will continue to champion athlete development through impactful initiatives like “Team Allianz” and the “MoveNow Programme.” These programs offer mentorship, career guidance, and resources, empowering athletes to thrive on and off the field. This holistic approach emphasizes the shared commitment to fostering personal and professional growth within the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.
This extension builds upon Allianz’s existing role as the official worldwide insurance partner, a position held since 2021, encompassing major events like Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026, and LA 2028. The continuation of this partnership signals a long-term commitment to providing stability and valuable services, reinforcing the shared vision of promoting global unity and the power of sport to inspire and connect people worldwide.
