Alessandro Florenzi loaned to AC Milan by AS Roma

Florenzi was part of the Italy squad that won the Euro 2020.

Alessandro Florenzi has completed his move to AC Milan on a season-long loan from AS Roma.

According to reports, the cost of the loan deal is at one million euros, with an option to make the move permanent after one year at an estimated price of 4.5 million euros.

This will be his third straight loan from Roma after he spent one term at Valencia and his last term at the French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

In a statement, Milan said that the 30-year-old “was joining the Rossoneri club until June 30, 2022“.

Florenzi was part of the Italy squad that won the Euro 2020 and has played 45 games for the Azzuri.

Florenzi made his senior debut for Roma in 2011 after coming through their youth ranks and will be able to provide his needed experience to the Italian side having played 280 times for his home-town club and having featured in four campaigns of Europe’s top competition while also helping them to reach to semi-finals in 2018.

AC Milan will be looking to strengthen their squad with this deal even further as they are back in the Champions League this season for the first time since being knocked out in the round of 16 by Atletico Madrid in 2014.

In the 2020-21 season, AC Milan claimed the 2nd spot in the points table just below the league champions Inter Milan. While Roma failed to qualify for the European competitions having secured 7th place.

A.S. Roma played its first game of the season today and was able to bag the first three points of the season by beating Fiorentina. While AC Milan will be seen playing their fifth match of the Serie A season tomorrow and will be facing Sampdoria in an away game.
