Agrimark, the Namibian agricultural retailer, has reinforced its commitment to community sport by supplying specialised fertiliser support to the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
The partnership delivers a full-year turf nutrition programme and strengthens the company’s role in local sports development.
The agreement introduces a tailored fertiliser plan designed to improve pitch durability, grass density and outfield quality at one of Namibia’s most important cricket venues. The programme includes seasonal soil treatments, pitch maintenance inputs and ongoing agronomic supervision from Agrimark’s technical specialists. The focus is to ensure consistent, high-performance playing conditions as cricket continues to grow across the country.
FNB Namibia Cricket Ground, a key home venue for the Namibia men’s national cricket team and Cricket Namibia’s domestic competitions, has been central to the sport’s rise in recent years. Upgraded turf quality supports international fixtures, domestic matches and year-round high-performance training.
Speaking about the partnership, Agrimark Marketing Manager, Marlize van Wyngaard, shared, “The recent inauguration of the state-of-the-art Namibia Cricket field was an immensely proud moment for Namibians all around. Evenly so for Agrimark is able to back our Namibian Cricket players by contributing to their home ground advantage through top-quality Omnia fertiliser that will ensure excellent playing surface conditions all year round. This sponsorship also shows Agrimark’s direct commitment and drive to support local sport and community development.”
Cricket Namibia welcomed the contribution, emphasising the value of infrastructure-focused sponsorships in sustaining the sport. The governing body highlighted that reliable, well-maintained playing surfaces are crucial for athlete safety and long-term performance development.
The enhanced turf conditions will support upcoming home internationals, domestic league fixtures and preparations for Namibia’s expanding high-performance calendar. Stronger playing surfaces also align with the country’s ambitions to attract more international cricket in the coming years.
Agrimark’s involvement reflects a broader trend across African cricket, where brands are shifting toward venue and infrastructure partnerships rather than traditional logo-based deals. This signals a more sustainable approach that strengthens performance quality and long-term growth for national programmes.
