Bournemouth’s leading institutions, AFC Bournemouth and Bournemouth University (BU), have solidified their partnership with a two-year extension.
This renewed commitment has strengthened the bond between the organizations, bringing substantial benefits to staff, students, supporters, and the wider community.
The partnership boasts a rich history, stretching back 12 years. BU remains AFC Bournemouth’s official higher education partner, enjoying prominent branding within the club. Additionally, BU retains its role as principal partner for the women’s and girls’ teams, with its logo displayed proudly on their jerseys.
Jim Andrews, Chief Operating Officer at Bournemouth University, told afcb.co.uk, “I am so proud of all that our partnership has achieved across many years, and the number of young people and students who have benefitted through our co-working.
“It is so important for us to partner with local organisations to work for the benefit of our community and I am delighted that this agreement will see us continue to do so for the next two years as we continue to cheer on AFC Bournemouth’s teams across all levels in the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons”.

Introducing a student sponsorship program is a significant development in this extended partnership. AFC Bournemouth will sponsor two BU students for the next two years, providing valuable financial support and mentorship opportunities.
The partnership will focus on further collaboration in community engagement initiatives, building upon the substantial positive impact already achieved. BU staff and students will continue to enjoy exclusive benefits, including opportunities to interact with players and attend special events.
