The Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has signed a multi-year partnership deal with the UAE Pro League.
The UAE Pro League is the major professional football league in the UAE. It was established in 1973. The Pro League Committee has been the league’s organizing body since its foundation in 2007.
The deal foresees that ADIB will serve as the main sponsor of the UAE League Cup. As per the deal, the Cup will be titled the “ADIB Cup” starting with the 2022-2023 season. The sponsorship contract is for three years.
The UAE League Cup, also known as the Pro League Cup, is a knockout tournament for clubs participating in the UAE Pro League.
The signing ceremony took place at the ADIB offices on Monday, in the presence of Nasser Al Awadhi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADIB, and H.E. Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, Chairman of the UAE Pro League.
The new sponsorship arrangement reflects ADIB’s commitment to social welfare through sponsoring sports and health projects, as well as programmes that encourage individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Nasser Al Awadhi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADIB said, “We are pleased to announce that ADIB will be the main sponsor of the UAE’s League Cup for the next three years.
