In a landmark collaboration that blends trust with technology, Indian cricket team icon, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has partnered with digital insurance provider, ACKO, as both a strategic investor and brand ambassador.
The former India captain, renowned for his calm leadership and massive fan base, has invested in ACKO through his family office, Midas Deals Pvt. Ltd. As the new face of the brand, Dhoni will headline upcoming campaigns aimed at reshaping India’s engagement with insurance.
Commenting on the occasion, MS Dhoni said, “As an automobile enthusiast, I’ve often found insurance to be unnecessarily complicated. ACKO brings clarity where there was confusion. Their tech-first, customer-centric approach reflects the way the new India wants to engage with insurance. I’m excited to support a brand that’s focused on trust and transformation.”
Varun Dua, Founder, ACKO, added, “Dhoni’s association with ACKO isn’t just a brand collaboration, but it is a meeting of mindsets. He mirrors the values that have shaped ACKO’s journey: customer-first thinking, simplicity, and bold innovation. Dhoni represents everything we stand for – trust, discipline, and the ability to stay calm while reinventing the game. His presence strengthens our resolve to rewrite the playbook for insurance in India. Together, we aim to make insurance simpler, more relatable, and truly loved by the people.”
Founded in 2016, ACKO is one of India’s leading insurtech companies, operating entirely through a digital-first model. The company offers motor, travel, health, and life insurance products, and currently serves over 70 million customers. With more than 2 million claims processed, ACKO continues to build momentum in a competitive market.
Dhoni’s partnership marks more than just a celebrity endorsement. It reflects a growing trend in India’s fintech and insurtech ecosystem, where credibility is being bolstered through strategic partnerships with high-profile public figures.
This latest move also adds to Dhoni’s robust commercial portfolio. He holds equity in companies like Garuda Aerospace and EMotorad. He’s also the force behind his own ventures, including sportswear label Seven, beverage brand 7InkBrews, and fitness brand Tagda Raho.
Beyond investments, Dhoni continues to be one of India’s most sought-after endorsers, with associations ranging from Gulf Oil and Mastercard to Swaraj Tractors, Zed Black Agarbatti, and Dettol.
With Dhoni onboard, ACKO is set to ramp up its consumer outreach—particularly among young, digital-first users—while doubling down on its mission to simplify, demystify, and humanise insurance.
