Italian giants AC Milan have signed a partnership deal with UK-based fintech company, RepX. RepX allows the fans to connect with their favourite sports celebrities, teams, influencers, and other celebrities with a personalized card. Moreover, RepX also has an application specially designed for helping fans to interact with celebrities.
As part of this deal, a special new debit card would be created exclusively for AC Milan fans. The debit card will be launched on the RepX platform. This deal will also allow Rossoneri fans to connect and interact with the players through news, exclusive offers on merchandise, and tickets for matches and special occasions.
While talking to Sport Business, Chief revenue officer of AC Milan, Casper Stylsvig admitted that RepX is a fan engagement tool that would enable the Rossoneri fans to get exclusive experience by the club. Moreover, Stylsvig also insisted that the club is looking forward to a much more positive commercial market in the upcoming season.
“There are definitely positive signs in the market, certainly more so than perhaps any time in the past twelve months. On the commercial side, we run all-year round so there really isn’t a down-time and if sentiment in the market continues to improve, then we can look to be optimistic about 2021-22.”
AC Milan has been on the decline in the past decades as they have failed to consistently qualify in the Champions League. However, Stefano Pioli managed to help AC Milan to play in Europe’s elite competition by finishing third in Serie A. Along with sporting ambitions, Champions League qualification will also give financial benefits to the club.
Earlier in June, AC Milan appointed Luca Baldzana the newly created position of head of media sales. Baldzana will be responsible for the club’s effective development of new and existing media revenue in order to boost the club’s commercial growth. The goal would be to broaden the club’s innovation and modernization path.
