AC Milan signs esports deal with Qlash

AC Milan has made entry into the dynamic world of esports by striking a strategic partnership with competitive gaming organization Qlash.

The two organizations will launch AC Milan Qlash that will compete across both soccer simulation and wider esports titles where the competitive scene has been growing exponentially in recent years.

AC Milan Qlash will be represented by Diego Campagnani. He finished the last FIFA Global Series season as the number one ranked player in the world for PlayStation. Fabio Denuzzo will also be part of the team as the Italian is one of the most coveted players for FIFA’s Xbox side. Both will be participating in the eSerie A TIM 2020/2021 championship as well as in other official FIFA 21 competitions, such as the FIFA Global Series and FIFA Club World Cup.

Moreover, AC Milan Qlash will also compete in the Brawl Stars mobile game, taking part in the World Finals that is set to take place at the end of November. The title developed by Supercell has an average of more than one million active users per day.

Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan’s Chief Revenue Officer, said, “We’re happy to announce this brand-new partnership with QLASH. This agreement is another important step in our Club’s modernization and innovation path. We are sure it will be an exciting and incredible experience, both for us and for our fans around the world, and we’re delighted to be embarking on this new adventure in the world of Esports in partnership with a leading company like QLASH.”

Luca Pagano, Co-founder and CEO of Qlash, said, “For traditional companies that have the courage to adjust and embrace innovation, Esports can represent a huge growth opportunity. We are thrilled and proud that AC Milan decided to pick QLASH as their Esports arm, not just for operation but also at brand and commercial levels. AC MILAN QLASH is a true, deep, and effective partnership. For sponsors that want to invest in the future, without neglecting the present or their traditions, together we will be able to offer the best of both worlds.”

This partnership is a part of AC Milan’s long-term strategy to invest in new opportunities to engage with the younger audience and create a presence in the entertainment space. Working with QLASH allows the Italian club to leverage its industry expertise to ensure a sustainable and commercially driven approach in the world of Esports.

In the last few years, many soccer clubs have entered into the esports domain by first participating in the FIFA competitive space. However, some clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain have expanded that scope through a partnership with an existing esports organization with established rosters.
