AC Milan sign a sponsorship deal with Oppo Italia

The deal will see the Chinese company’s Italian branch join the fourth tier of the club’s sponsorship portfolio as an official partner.

AC Milan, one of the most prestigious football clubs in Europe has struck a sponsorship deal with smartphone brand Oppo Italia. The deal will see the Chinese company’s Italian branch join the fourth tier of the club’s sponsorship portfolio as an official partner.

As part of the agreement, Oppo will handle matters on the development of exclusive events and initiatives. Over the past few years, Oppo has made its presence felt in sport by associating itself as a sponsor of the International Cricket Council, the Indian national team, the Pakistan Super League and one of its teams, Peshawar Zalmi. Along with cricket and football, Oppo is also associated with two Grand Slams in tennis, Wimbledon and the French Open. It also serves as a sponsor for the ATP Tour’s Paris Masters.

Earlier in April, AC Milan’s chief revenue officer, Casper Stylsvig had addressed the media and hinted at his confidence in the sponsorship market ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 season. He added, “There are definitely positive signs in the market, certainly more so than perhaps any time in the past twelve months. On the commercial side, we run all-year-round so there really isn’t a downtime and if sentiment in the market continues to improve then we can look to be optimistic about 2021-22.”

Besides this deal, AC Milan also entered into an exclusive partnership with top-up and payment services company Snaipay, a few weeks ago. This was a renewal agreement after both parties decided to continue their venture together for the 2021-22 season. In addition, AC Milan also signed a licensing agreement with UK-based financial technology company Repx, emphasizing the club’s fan engagement content and marketing.

The 2021-22 season is scheduled to kick off in the second week of August. The biggest thing to look forward to AC Milan’s fans is their club’s participation in the UEFA Champions League, as the club qualified for the showpiece event after almost a decade.
