AC Milan announce BMW as new Automotive partner

AC Milan and BMW have announced a new multi-year partnership, which will see the Italian branch of BMW German premium automobile manufacturer become Rossoneri’s new Automotive Partner and Premium Partner.

This is a key partnership for BMW, which will see the Italian branch of the automobile manufacturer work closely with AC Milan on several exclusive events and initiatives to connect and excite all sports fans as well as car, innovation and glamour enthusiasts across the globe.

As a Premium Partner of AC Milan, BMW will be fully integrated across the AC Milan business, providing product showcasing, exposure to the Clubs digital and physical assets as well as opportunities to develop compelling branded content.

Zlatan Ibrahimović and his AC Milan teammates will all be getting new cars after the Italian club signed a partnership deal with automobile maker BMW on Wednesday.

AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni said: “Welcoming an internationally recognised brand and excellence in the automotive industry such as BMW to our family of Premium Partners gives us great pride. BMW, much like AC Milan, is a synonym for excellence, style and innovation, so we are truly delighted to embark on this journey and head toward a progressive and sustainable future together, for the benefit of all.

Massimiliano Di Silvestre, President and CEO of BMW Italia, admitted that they are not limiting to visibility collaborations. He hinted that both brands will be working together to match each other ambitions and remain more authentic than their counter parts.

AC Milan have previously worked with another german automotive giant Audi. Audi first began its support of AC Milan in 2007 as a ‘top sponsor’.After the departure of Audi, Milan was looking for a Car Sponsor. The old management lead by Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli failed to reach a deal with Audi. BMW has previously worked with Bayern Munich for years before being replaced by Audi in 2019.

Automobile Partnerships is one of the creative avenues for clubs during the pandemic. Manchester United is one the big profile clubs that will be in the market for a new automobile partner. The English club’s current deal with Chevrolet is set to end at the end of 2020/21 campaign.
