Ever since France’s shock exit from the Euros 2020 in the round of 16 stage, French striker Olivier Giroud has reportedly been focusing on a move out of Stamford Bridge. With AC Milan leading the race to sign the 34-year-old on a reported fee of $1.2 million with add-ons of $1.2 million from the subsequent year.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Giroud will join AC Milan until June 2023 and is expected to fly to Milan for his medical ahead of the transfer. After chasing the transfer of Giroud since June 2020, AC Milan had to waver as the French striker signed a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge and with the contract coming at a close, AC Milan have reportedly bagged the deal.
Giroud’s exit from Stamford Bridge has been a long time coming with Juventus and Inter Milan reportedly behind the French Striker has been finally been decided as Giroud’s move to San Siro seems inevitable now.
AC Milan who finished in 2nd place in Serie A with 12 points behind the Champions and their rivals Inter Milan would have a shot at the ‘Scudetto’ and they would try to achieve that with 2017 Puskas winner Olivier Giroud.
With 152 goals in 255 matches, Giroud is a prolific goal scorer and would be just the player AC Milan need to have a shot at the Scudetto and the deal would benefit both parties. Along with this AC Milan are also looking to land French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on a possible loan deal with the option to buy.
