ABP, PGTI join hands in a partnership deal

The partnership was initiated in October when ABP covered the first leg of the 5 City.

ABP, the Hindi news network, has signed a first-of-its-kind partnership with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The Hindi news network has emerged as the official digital partner of PGTI. Following this, ABP will be broadcasting the PGTI Golf tour live on their digital platforms, which are to be held in the coming months.

The partnership was initiated in October when ABP covered the first leg of the 5 City, Tata Steel PGTI, MP Cup 2021 held in Delhi. While the next leg of the tour held in Jaipur was also telecasted live on the ABP network, and the 4-day coverage has got more than 2 million views just on ABP FB Live itself.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP Network, said “Over the last few years, we have been aggressively looking towards ramping up our offerings in the sports segment like Kabbadi and Olympics, while not remaining restricted to cricket. This initiative of broadcasting golf is in line with the larger goal. It’s a prestigious moment for the network to associate with PGTI and facilitate a pan-Indian viewership for the tournament.

Following the signing of a unique partnership, ABP will be hosting the remaining legs of the tournament which are to be held in Chandigarh from 13th to 14th November, then Kolkata from 27th to 28th November, and lastly, Jamshedpur from 18th to 19th December 2021.

The winner of this tour will be lifting an eye-catching, 1.5 crore rupee prize money, in which over 300 professional golf players, including Olympians and past winners, will participate. Kapil Dev, Director with the PGTI and a veteran promoter of golf, has also expressed his excitement about the collaboration of PGTI and ABP, saying it would work on strengthening the sport and its popularity in the country.
