USA Hockey, a national ice hockey organisation in the United States, has entered into a multi-year partnership with Discover Financial Services, an American financial services company.

The multi-year agreement has designated Discover as the official credit card of USA Hockey.

This collaboration marks an important milestone for both organisations, reinforcing Discover’s commitment to the growth of ice hockey across the United States and its dedication to supporting the development of women’s sports.

As part of this partnership, Discover will be an official sponsor of USA Hockey and the U.S. Women’s National Team. It will also serve as the presenting sponsor for the Rivalry Series in the U.S., an annual and highly anticipated event featuring thrilling matchups between the U.S. and Canadian women’s national hockey teams.

Additionally, Discover’s role extends to sponsoring USA Hockey’s “Try Hockey for Free” program, an essential initiative designed to introduce young players to the sport. Held at local ice rinks nationwide, Try Hockey for Free events provide equipment, coaching, and ice time for children at no cost, removing financial barriers to entry. Recent events in Kansas City and San Antonio saw hundreds of eager young participants, showcasing the program’s broad appeal and success in fostering a new generation of hockey enthusiasts.

Expressing excitement over the partnership, USA Hockey Executive Director Pat Kelleher, said, “We’re excited to welcome Discover to the USA Hockey family. Our core value that hockey is for everyone aligns with Discover’s vision, and their support is greatly appreciated as we continue to work to ensure access to everyone who would like to play or be involved in our great sport.”

Amy Adams, Discover’s Vice President of Media, added, “Our partnership with USA Hockey allows Discover to not only deepen our relationship with hockey but also reinforces our commitment to women’s sports. As we grow within the hockey space, we look forward to amplifying voices and creating opportunities where athletes can thrive on and off the ice.”

This partnership with USA Hockey is part of Discover’s larger strategy to support youth and community initiatives encouraging diversity and inclusivity. The company’s involvement reflects an understanding that sports can be a powerful tool for social good, helping to bridge gaps and offer opportunities to young athletes from all backgrounds.

For USA Hockey, Discover’s sponsorship serves as a valuable partnership that aligns with its mission to broaden the sport and provide resources for developing players. As the popularity of ice hockey continues to grow, corporate partnerships like this one are essential for building a more diverse, inclusive, and supportive hockey community nationwide.
