In a major boost for Indian football, Sony Sports Network has secured the broadcasting rights for the upcoming I-League 2024-25 season. The popular sports channel will bring all the action from the country’s second-tier football league to viewers across the nation.

The partnership comes on the heels of significant improvements to the I-League, driven by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). In response to feedback from clubs, the AIFF has committed to enhancing the league’s marketing, promotion, broadcast quality, fixture scheduling, and refereeing.

To ensure a high-quality broadcast experience, the AIFF has mandated that participating clubs meet minimum infrastructure standards, including international-standard pitch quality and 1800 lux floodlights. Clubs that cannot meet these requirements will be provided with a reduced camera setup.

The AIFF has also prioritised scheduling I-League matches during prime time slots and is working to optimise the fixture list to minimise travel costs for clubs. Additionally, the federation has relieved clubs of broadcast-related expenses.

The partnership with Sony Sports Network is expected to significantly elevate the visibility of the I-League and attract a wider audience. With the channel’s extensive reach and commitment to sports broadcasting, Indian football fans can look forward to a thrilling season of competitive action.

Sony Sports Network is a leading sports broadcasting platform in India, renowned for its comprehensive coverage of major sporting events worldwide. With a focus on high-quality production, expert commentary, and innovative features, the network has become a go-to destination for sports enthusiasts.
